Pipe Organ Restoration
The historic sanctuary of St. Mary’s Church has played host to many magnificent community concerts throughout the years– beginning in 1923 with a concert performance by world-famed organist Joseph Bonnet to recent years with the two-time Grammy Award winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Genesee Symphony Orchestra, world-renowned Anonymous 4 and the renowned Medina High School A’Capella Choir.
During the 1960’s, the pipe organ fell silent; a victim of disrepair. Most of the original 1913 Tellers-Summerhoff organ is long gone, but soon the sanctuary will be home to a restored three-manual, 31 rank 1890 Barckhoff instrument. For the first time in nearly fifty years the organ has begun to speak again, but we need your help to finish the job!
Holy Trinity Parish Music Director and Principal Organist, Aaron Grabowski, is heading up this tremendous restoration. Grabowski is employed with the Parsons Pipe Organ Builders. of Canandaigua, NY, and continues to donate hundreds of volunteer hours bringing this magnificent “king of instruments” back to life as a prominent piece of WNY’s pipe organ collection.
The Orleans Renaissance Group is proud to help facilitate this historic restoration project that will benefit the entire community for generations to come. We are very excited about the concert possibilities that this instrument will bring as well as the notoriety this grand instrument will afford our community!
